Drawstring cargo nets are used in wildfire operations and many other areas by the Forest Service and local agencies. Most nets are made using polypropylene rope and are rated up to 6,000lbs or 3,000-lb. All of our nets have been tested and made to the highest standards. All of our aerial delivery equipment is built to either USDA or Fed Specs. We can also build nets to print. The most commonly used net is NSN 1670010298556 under Fed Spec 5100-502. These are 12ft octagonal or round cargo nets used for light and medium duty choppers.

 

Drop Systems manufactures and stocks all sizes of USDA Forest Service Helicopter Cargo Nets both 12′ and 18′ nets. They are made to the latest spec and proudly manufactured at our New York facility. We also carry the roller bearing swivels (NFES0526 NSN 1670-01-029-8555) and the Lead Lines (1670-01-029-8554). The 12′ Helicopter net is the most commonly used net (NSN 1670010298556) and are generally in stock.

The cargo net swivels are designed for use with light and medium duty helicopters and prevent the load from kinking and binding. They allow the load to rotate freely during transit and are essential to proper operation.

The current versions of both the cargo swivel and lead line feature eye style safety locking hooks.
